Greece, March 2017.
I travelled to Heraklion on the island of Crete for 3 tournaments throughout March and after my success at Shrewsbury I travelled to Greece wanting to build on my good start to the year. Due to the ITF wanting to reduce the number of ranked players in the world, along with the increase in prize money by $5000 the level of the futures is higher than ever through out the world.
In the 3 weeks I managed to make the finals, semi finals and quarter finals of the 3 doubles events with my partner Richard Gabb, which has seen me rise to a career high of 791 in the ATP doubles ranking. This is an increase of 771 places in the rankings since the start of 2017. In the singles event there I made it as far as the 3rd round. After the trip I also saw a new career high in singles of 1558, which is a 300 place increase since the start of the year.
The island of Crete was an amazing place, in some of my time off I managed to go out and visit the Cave of Zeus, which was apparently where the Greek God of Zeus was born.
Returning back from Greece I was given some great news of being selected to represent GB students to play against the All England club at the prestigious Wimbledon grass courts.
My next event is the Hunters NPL finals which are being held at my home club of David Lloyds, which is followed by a trip to Isreal for 3 more futures events.
