Going into the futures event at Shrewsbury I had no idea that I would still be playing there a week
later, but iv been working hard with my coaches and trainers at Team Bath to make sure that if opportunities came up and I was in the tournaments later in the weeks, I'd be prepared. This happened in Shrewsbury. I won my first professional title, and it felt as good as I imagined. They always say the first title is the hardest, but I think now the hard part is building on that. I am determined that although it was my first it will not be my last. We didn’t have an easy draw to get through, beating the number one seeds in the quarter finals, then beating Wimbledon hero, Marcus Willis, and his partner in a close final.
I realize though that I cannot take credit for the title all myself, I have to thank my partner, Scott Clayton, my mum and dad, my coaches at Team Bath MCTA Dave Sammel and Macca.
Iv had a long run of tournaments since early January and it's time for me to put my feet up at home for a couple of days, but I'll get back to it for the second half of this week, and next week before I head to Greece for a few weeks to build on what I have started.
