My parents along with my sister (Kim) and her fiancé (Damien) all came to visit me in Clemson and travelled to some of our away matches. It was the first time Kim and Damien had been to Clemson so I got to show them around, take them out to the nice restaurants and let them take in the atmosphere of college tennis matches.
The first match they got to see me play was against NC State, the team ended up losing in a really close battle 4-3, but for me I got two wins. In singles I beat the number #66 ranked played in the country 6-1 7-5, in a match my Dad described me as “playing the best he has ever seen me play in 22 years!!” In the other matches we played Boston College, Virginia Tech, and Virginia. Team wise we got one win out of these three beating Boston College. The highlight from these matches were in doubles for me, teaming up with a new partner due to an injury to my regular one, and being a break up against the #13 and #2 teams in the country before the match being stopped due to the doubles point being clinched.
The match against Virginia was Senior Day for me and Austin Ansari. We were honoured before the match for our achievements through our time at Clemson. It was very special to me to have my whole family in Clemson for that, and to share that moment with them. Above is a picture attached from the presentation.
