The Season Begins....

February 9, 2016

After a hard week of training back in Clemson we got our season started with a double-header vs Mercer in Charlotte. We came away with 1 win and 1 loss that day. The next weekend we headed up North to New Hampshire where we played Dartmouth College and Penn State University. Unfortunately, we came a close second in those two matches, but the best thing about losing is that it is a great opportunity to learn and grow as a team. After returning back to Clemson late on Sunday we were back on the road again, this time in the opposite direction. We visited Texas Tech (Lubbock, Texas) for a match against the nationally ranked number 15 Red Raiders. It was a tough match, but by far as a team our best match of the season and we came up short. After covering thousands of miles in a short period of times, boarding numerous planes we finally arrived back in Clemson for a nice home stretch of the season. I am really enjoying the nights in my own bed. We have since won our last 3 matches against College of Charleston, and Wofford College (x2.) Our team record is won 4, lost 4, and personally in singles I have won 4 lost 3, playing at the number 1,2 and 3 positions in our lineup.

We have home matches coming up this weekend against Auburn University (nationally ranked no. 56,) and Gardener Webb University.
